They will liaise and collaborate with functional leaders on issues related to division strategy and construction matters.What are the primary responsibilities?

  • Strategy and Process
    • Strategic and tactical planning related to the construction function
    • Technical oversight of construction activities ensuring consistent execution, efficient processes and optimum cost effectiveness
    • Controlling the permitting, starts, scheduling and even flow processes
    • Managing the division construction budget
    • Oversee the warranty and customer service function to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
    • Provide accurate and timely reporting on key metrics and performance indicators
    • Conduct weekly meetings with Area Production Managers and Customer Care Managers to discuss pertinent issues and maintain open communication to the team
    • Continually develop and solicit feedback on ways to reduce construction and warranty costs through both Toll personnel and our trade partners
    • Ensure quality is built into every home in order to minimize warranty issues
    • Assist in the resolution of any construction quality issues, which become apparent during the construction and warranty period
    • Analyze survey data with respect to the construction and warranty process and implement improvements where necessary
    • Ensure collaboration and communication between all division teams
    • Accountability and Adoption
      • Monitor construction activity to ensure homes are started within the established parameters
      • Oversee the Construction teams use of BuildProto ensure it is being utilized fully
      • Ensure adherence to the company written safety programs by all team members, including trade partners
      • Stay current on all building code changes to be sure they are communicated timely to construction staff
      • People and Talent Development
        • Ensure the Production and Quality team maintains the capabilities it needs to be successful by supporting the recruitment, selection, training and development of its employees
        • Lead, coach and mentor to identify strengths to build on and provide opportunities for growth
        • Ensure the team continuously improves the way it works together to drive value for the division
        • Resource planning based on production needs and priorities, delegating work, based on staff competencies
        • All other duties as assignedQualificationsDoes this describe you?
          • Solid knowledge of major activities associated with residential real estate construction
          • Proven track record of managing complex processes with diverse groups of stakeholders
          • Proven history of delivering projects against established timelines
          • Familiar with current software applications used within the residential construction industry, and are good at helping others see the benefits of integrating technology with residential real estate operations
          • Experience communicating with senior leadersDo you have these qualifications?
            • Essential:
              • Bachelor's degree
              • 10 - 15 years of Construction Management, Business Management, or Architecture (in the residential construction industry)
              • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
              • Preferred:
